I wrote this Tutorial on the 10th of April 2007, any similarity to any other tutorial is coincidental.

I have used PSP X in making this tutorial.



Supplies

About 4/5 photos of your choice.

A font of your choice (I used 1 snappy DNA)
Which is a pay font so unfortunately I can't share

Embellishments of choice or you can download the one I used Here


Let's Start!

You can drag this arrow down the page with you to keep your place in the tut.

Open your photos in psp.

Press shift D to copy each picture and close the originals.

Do any photo fixing you need to do.

Grab your selections tool.

Set it to square - feather 0.

Drag a square out round the part of the photo you'd like to use.



Hold your right mouse key and this will allow to fine turn the position.

Once your happy - Image - Crop to Selection.

Image Resize using these settings

Layer Duplicate.

Layer - add new Raster.

Flood fill the top layer with white.

Adjust the white layer opacity down to around 60.

Hide the bottom layer and Merge all visible.

Un Hide Bottom layer.

Select - Select all.

Select - modify - Select Selection Border 3px.

Flood fill between the marching ants on BOTH layers, with a colour of your choice.

Now Deselect.

Do this to all your pictures.

Now to get these pictures all onto one canvas.

Follow this steps exactly otherwise you'll get in pickle.

Open a new transparent canvas 600px x 400px (We will crop later)

If you don't like the messy edges A/s sometimes leaves then flood fill this layer with white.

Select your 1st small picture.

Select the Background layer and edit - copy.

Paste as new layer on your blank canvas. Don't move it!

Select the merged layer and edit - copy.

Paste as new layer on your big canvas. Don't try to move them!

Next - lock the 2 layers together. To do this select raster 2 and above the layer palette change the layer link toggle to a 1. Select raster 3 and do the same.



Click on your next small photo and copy and paste both layers over the same way. This time change the link layer toggle to 2 on both layers.

Click on your next small photo and copy and paste both layers over the same way. This time change the link layer toggle to 3 on both layers.

Etc, till you have all your small pics on your big canvas.

Now grab your move tool and arrange all your photos, if they are locked properly the faded layers should move the normal layer too.

I've arranged mine into a line.



Select the very top layer of your canvas.

Grab your pen tool, Set your foreground a gradient or colour of your choice.

Use these settings for your pen and drag a line out slightly longer than your pics.



When your happy, Layers convert to raster. Move into place.

Duplicate and move the lines so one is sitting on top your row of pictures and one below.

Add your text and any embellishments you like.

I've used Font 1 snappy DNA

Don't merge anything!

When your ready open Animation Shop.

Go back to psp and find the faded version of your first pic and click the eye to hide that layer.

Edit - Copy merged.

In A/s paste as new animation.

Back in psp unhide the first layer you hid and find the faded version layer of your second pic and hide it.

Edit - Copy merged.

In A/s paste - after current frame.

Continue going back and forth between psp and A/s hiding and unhiding the appropriate layers and pasting into A/s - after current frame.

When you have all your frames over to A/s

Edit - Select all

Animation Frame Properties - Change to around 100.

Crop and resize.

Save as a gif.
