Floating Heart Siggy

I wrote this Tutorial on the 8th of June 2007, any similarity to any other tutorial is coincidental.

I have used PSP X in making this tutorial.

Supplies

Grudge font which you can find Here

Heart Floatie which you can find Here

You can drag this arrow down the page with you to keep your place in the tut.
Script provided by Dynamic Drive.

Ok Let's Begin

1) Open the font and minimize on the task bar

2) Open Animation Shop and Paint Shop Pro.

3) In Animation Shop find the heart floatie and open

4) Click Ctrl and A to select all the frames then Ctrl c to copy them to your computers clipboard.

5)Open psp and click Ctrl V to paste your frames over. It should open up into a multi layered image. We need to separate all the frames out, so highlight the top frame and click crtl c (to copy it) and ctrl V( to paste as new image) then go to the next frame down and highlight again crtl c then crtl v. Go through all 8 frames till they are pasted as separate images. Then close the layered image. (I've found this is the easiest way for me to do this using psp x)

6) Open a new transparent canvas 400 x 400 pixels (If your name is long you may need to make your canvas wider.)

7) Select your Grudge font and use these settings.

8)Size - 80.
Stroke width 2.
Create as - Vector.
Stroke Colour - I picked up a dark colour from the heart floatie.
Fill Colour - I picked a light colour from the heart floatie.

ype your name and position on the canvas then - layers - convert to raster.

Grab your magic wand and set the match mode to RGB Value. Feather 0. Click inside the first letter of your name then hold your shift Key to continue selecting all of the inside of the letters. I had to zoom in to see all the areas to click on around the bottom of my J.

Now duplicate your layer (Layers - Duplicate) till you get 8 text layers.

Highlight the top layer and grab your flood fill tool and find the first pattern from the first frame your floatie. Change the scale to 50% so the hearts are smaller.

Flood fill, then hide the layer and move to the next layer down and find the next frame pattern. Continue doing this till all your eight layers are flood filled. Then deselect. (Layers - Deselect)

Unhide all the layers and add a nice drop shadow to each layer.

I used H-1, V-1, Opacity 58 and Blur 4. Colour black.

Finally you may have an extra blank layer right at the bottom just delete it.

Crop to a more reasonable size.

Now save as a psp file and open in Animation shop.

Click Crtl A then Animation - Reverse Frames.

View Animation to check all is ok. (and the hearts are going in the right direction)

And bingo your done!

Hope you enjoyed this Tutorial!
